What Is Craniosacral Therapy?
Craniosacral therapy is a very gentle form of treatment which supports the body’s natural ability to self-repair and heal. Our bodies undertake essential maintenance whilst we are in a relaxed state. Due to the stresses of modern day life, our systems are often left in a state of fight or flight which is not ideal for self-repair.
The role of the therapist is to use light touch to identify any restrictions in the body’s tissues, fluids and bones and working with these structures can help restore and maintain a balance of physical, psychological and emotional health.
Treatments are usually carried out with the client lying down, fully clothed in a peaceful, relaxed environment and this promotes a sense of calm, where the deepest forms of healing can take place.
Due to the gentle approach, treatment is suitable for all ages including babies and the elderly and can be tailored to suit the client’s needs. Craniosacral therapy can help alleviate or improve symptoms in many conditions.
